Here is another black on black tonal moon piece I just love.
It’s inspired by a phrase I heard a few weeks back and it’s this … “You don’t have to be whole to shine.”
I sat with that for awhile as I started this piece and realized one doesn’t have to have all the answers to keep moving forward. And the freedom in moving forward comes in giving one’s self the permission to learn along the way.
And those little white & silver spots? Those little stars in the distance are my reminder that as long as there is light there is space to shine.
This 30×40 has the same mix of waxy mat and texture gloss blacks as DARK SIDE. The silvery highlights in the arc of the moon are created by the iridescent charcoal paint.
Here are some close ups of the colors and texture
I love how the light changes this peice’s appearance as it change throughout the day.
Media: Gesso and acrylic paint.
