Hey, I’m super stoked to be able to donate two pieces to this year’s SCAC Mardi Gras Fundraiser.
I’ve been a photographer sinve getting my first camera in high school at the young age of 17.
For many years photography has been my voice. From shooting abandoned buildings in the warehouse districts in Downtown Los Angeles to the ghost town of the high desert to shooting historic buildings and town in my international travels, I’ve always found the lens and hte dark room to be safe places to document my life.
These two photographic prints were taken in 2005 when my wife Leisa and I traveled to Istanbul, Turkey for the New Year.
Each image was shot and digitally treated to look like those old timey photos from master like Henri Carter-Bresson, Alfred Stieglitz from an are gone by.
I made my own textured overlays and sepia tones presets to create this series of sepia toned prints that look like thay were made in hte late 1800’s using a large field cameras and glass slides.
There are plenty of imperfections in each one to create a timeless mood.
Thanks for letting me share these with you all and give back to a great organization.
