Hey!

You might remember this piece forma a few years ago.

Well, I have never been really happy with how it came out so, like every perfectionist, Ive been slowly working away and getting to where I not just felt better about it but puts a big dark grin on my face.

While it is not up in my shop it is available to purchase, just contact me through the studio.

This has always been an experimental piece that explores, life, death, mental health and overthinking.

I’ve shared through the years how crippling even my low grade anxiety can be. This year marks the first year that I have been on Propanolol to help with the daily stressors and I have really enjoyed being able to feel like I have more options and control over my anxiety.

One of the challenges when I decided to re work this piece was how can I make it more dimensional?

With a combination of fiber paste and and my own blend of thick gesso these two mediums allowed mt to kind of lightly sculpt the relief of the skull.

The black monastery pattern is a deep black flocking and has a fun velvety feel to it.

The patterns are imperfect an symbolize the nature of staying stuck both mentally and physically.

Here are some detail shots of this piece. It is set in a thin face, mid century modern float frame.
