It’s always a pleasure and an honor to work with Mike Moroski, someone I consider a friend and a brother.
If you know Mike, you know that he is always thinking, moving and collaborating in one way or another. His brain never stops.
If you remember the “Vol.” logo i created for him last year you know that he has been in recovery and sobriety since November 2025.
So when he reached out last week wanting a new logo for his solo gigs, he sent me some death/black metal logo inspos along with some ideas like, here’s what I’m inspired by and also if you can weave some tarot card style in there that would be great.
So, when I think of death metal, those logos are usually really hard to read (on purpose), They are spiney, pointy and typically ahve some kind of mirroring design elements.
He’s also is a big Tolkein and Lord of The Rings fan so I wanted to create something visually that felt hopeful, growrth oriented but still had that stark black and white death metal look.
The use of tree branches and limbs created this unique vibe and after looking at it for awhile kind has the allusion to bronchi and bronchioles in our lungs thus giving it this idea of the cycle of life and death.
The below portion symbolizes the letting go of the old addictions of the past to the above branches symbolizing a rebirth and new life through sobriety.

I’ve known Mike since we meet when we landed in Cincinnati back in May of 2010. We have collaborated on various projects together for the last 18 plus years so its pretty easy to know what Mike is looking for as well as have complete creativity on my end.
And if you follow him on social media, you know he loves horror films so I feel like this hits all those vibes for him.
