I’ve always wanted to paint a large dark canvas that mirrored a lot of my early years.
This dark, bold piece isn’t for everyone but I do feel it represents places where someone is currently at or has been.
Those high walls that are built for self-preservation and the darkness represents the trauma or anxiety we often walk around with. We raise and lower them to keep people out. To keep them from knowing who I/we really are.
It’s rooted in this misconception of what if they really knew me, my darkest secrets, would the still like me.
Trauma will do this if I continue to believe this path. This piece is the antithesis of my other one titled “Forgiveness”.
As a enneagram 6 we want to believe that there is something better. We want to believe there is hope.
The good news is that when I show up to do the work and dismantle what is untrue amazing things can happen.
I’m grateful my days aren’t always like this.
