This was the first portrait of Rolling Stones COVID inspired original painting icon and legend Keith Richards, aka, Keef.
This piece features a lot of tonal colors, bright pink stencil, tonal black and hints of tipped metallic gold.
While the colors are bright in this bold, stenciled painting there is an underlying mood and darkness that is reflected in the texture and gritty “Gimme Shelter” was written on a particularly dark day as Mick sat in his room, depressed while an incredible storm crossed over London. With e recent loss of Stones’ founding member and drummer Brian Jones and finding out his girlfriend Anita was having an affair with Mick only added to level of darkness in this classic tune.
