This is moody oil painting is rich with lots of subtle texture and layers and layers of paint is inspired by moonlight peering through a cloudy night.
This one goes way back to 2002 and is the fourth piece I had ever painted.19 Years ago, I bought an easel, a bunch of tunes of oil pigments, brushes and didn’t really have any idea of what i was doing. I just wanted to get what was inside of me out on the canvas.
I’ve always had a thing for the night. The clouds, the stars and especially the moon.
19 Years later, this piece still puts a smile on my face.
There were years, that hope felt like the untouchable clouds as they passed across the face of the moon.
And while the moon wasn’t clear, the light it reflects from the sun was always a comfort on those sleepless nights.
