K. Randall Wilcox - Fine Art Paintings

Here’s a few process and detail pix:

Initially, was going for a weathered wall in Cuba somewhere…

And when the weathered wall wasn’t really flowing for me it was time to try something else. So I worked this idea of fractured valley landscape but then need to take a step back as this wasn’t really speaking to me either over a fee days.

It wasn’t til I just started pulling and dripping white paint over the whole thing that this idea of FORGIVENESS started to take hole.

And what if this idea of allowing myself to let go of all the hurts, lies, disappoints in life and start living in the flow of life, what might that look like?

A few years ago I learned about the Japanese art of Kintsugi where they use gold to to repair the broken pieces and give what ever item they are doing this to a story and a new life. I’d always thought that was cool but didn’t know how or where to incorporate taht concept into my work.

Well, here you go, after three turns, this large 60×48 gallery wrapped canvas has an amazing story that celebrate’s life’s scars and weaves in a new chapter of hope, love and forgiveness.

I can’t wait to hang this in it’s historic summer home that’s being renovated up in Carlisle, KY.
